20 Wholefood Slow Cooker Recipes
My slow cooker is one appliance I use a lot.
It’s always bubbling away with a roast, bone broth or a lovely slow braise. When my kids were babies, it was a lifesaver.
There is something satisfying about getting dinner sorted early and enjoying the wafting aromas all day long.

What a great round-up. I am always looking for new slow cooker recipes that don’t rely on a tin of condensed soup. Thank you for including my cake 🙂
Thanks for stopping by Tania – very excited to have found your website via my slow cooker search! 🙂
Can these be made as freezer meals and thrown into the crockpot?
Hi Cory, the general advice is not to put frozen food into the crockpot/slow cooker because at some point the food is in the danger zone of temperature and bugs could grow. You could freeze the ingredients, thaw overnight and then put in the slow cooker. 🙂
Oooh, there’s lots on here I want to try! Thank you for including me in your line up!! X
Thanks for the clever recipe as always. xxx
Yum!! These dishes look amazing.
I pulled out my slow cooker last week and new recipes were on my mind. So glad I received your email about it.
Thanks for those tips. A few things I didn’t know there 🙂
Thanks Sia! I think we get stuck in a rut with the same ideas so keen to try out a few new things too. 🙂
I love this. I use my slow cooker a lot. We have a really old one from the 70s so I was concerned at first when I read about the lead (I’ve not heard that before) but our slowcooker pan is ceramic (like a giant casserole pot, no metal) so hopefully that wouldn’t apply to us.
Emma, some places I am reading are saying they use lead in the glaze of the ceramic pot?
yes ceramic glazes can have lead in them more so from pre 2000
also never but anything acidic in ceramic cups or bowls, like juice etc. If the ceramic is crazed as in has hairline lines through it its not at all food safe!
Great tips thanks Anna!!!
These recipes all look delicious! I can’t wait to try some out with my family over the next few weeks. Thank-you so much for including my slow cooked chicken and sweet potato curry!
Hey Sasha, thanks for letting me feature your recipe! It’s a cracker. 🙂
