Crio Bru Brewed Cocoa

November 2, 2012 · 161 Comments

I have some exciting news to share! I have become an affiliate with Crio Brü. I love their product so much, I can’t help but recommend it to everyone and let you in on the deliciousness!

But first, what is Crio Brü brewed cocoa?

Crio Brü is a brewed drink made from 100% roasted and ground cacao beans! It is 100% natural and 100% pure.

Crio Brü is the ultimate superfood. It is low in calories and contains no sugar, no fat, no dairy, no sodium, no cholesterol and practically no caffeine, yet is extremely high in antioxidants, theobromine and a host of other vitamins and minerals.

It comes in different flavours, each with a unique taste. I love them all, but Vega Real is my favourite. It tastes like a hot chocolate, but with more complex and richer flavours and without being sickly sweet.

Everyone in the family loves it too and I am in trouble if I run out. It’s actually a chocolate drink I feel more than happy about my kids having.

How do you use it?

You can brew your Crio Bru in a plunger (or French press), in a drip coffee maker, in your thermomix or just simmer on the stove top and then strain. You can add milk and sweetener if you like. I like it with some rice milk and a tablespoon of coconut oil – I find I don’t need a sweetener. You can drink it hot or cold.

But wait, don’t throw away the grounds! You can use them in loads of different recipes. I freeze them until I am ready to use them.

You can make a really nice Crio Concentrate and keep it in the fridge to use in iced chocolate or over icecream.

You can also use the grounds as a lovely body scrub. I add them to a small handful of coconut oil. Sublime!

Is it good for me?

You may have heard that chocolate is full of antioxidants and you are right! But, when you eat chocolate with it’s added sugar and with all the processing, you add those negative elements. Crio Brü is pure cacoa, so you get all the benefits, without worrying about additives.

No chemicals are used in the processing – it’s just pure cacao beans.

It makes a perfect substitute for coffee, so if you are wanting to cut down or give up, replace it with some Crio ! You can even combine it with your ground coffee and make a mocha. Crio Bru is also a fantastic and yummy cure for chocolate or sweet cravings.

Many people are reporting huge health benefits, including weight loss. Dr Oz even recommends it. “This is a really cool idea. I think this is something really worth trying. Here’s what I love about it. It’s why it can help you burn fat faster. It has a natural stimulant, not caffeine, called theobromine that can boost your metabolism. It’s very safe. It also has a fat blocker. It helps get rid of the fat in your body by blocking an enzyme you need to digest fat, so you never absorb the fat into your body.” – Dr. Oz

In fact, I am going to test this theory as I would like to lose about 10 kilograms (that’s a whole other blog post!), so I am going to make sure I have a daily Crio Brü with a tablespoon of coconut oil. I do find when I have it around 3pm, it is an incredible pick me up and my appetite is satisfied until dinner time.

Does anyone want to join me?

There are so many other health benefits as well, but I will get you to have a look at those for yourself in a minute!

How do you buy it?

But it online, direct from Crio Brü. I get several bags at once to save on postage. It usually gets delivered within the week. It’s very affordable and a bag lasts me for ages. Go here to check it out.

I am thrilled to be working with Crio Brü and hope to bring you some recipes and more information in future blog posts. Who is already a Crio fan?

Very excited about this! I’m not a coffee drinker either, but love the taste of Crio. I love how it curbs sweet cravings and provides saiety. Also because of it having theobromine, I don’t get all jittery like I can do with even too many hot chocolates.

Gee, where do i start. Dont want to give specifics so read between the lines. I have a “significant” amount of weight to loose. It is coming off, in fact today i went down to the next row on my bra without effort. So i know it is happening. That 3pm slot is my danger zone so would love to try and see how we go. Anything to make this journey easier and to stop going to old patterns has got to be a winner to me. Also, love no sugar/additives etc. i always say no to those choc milk things for my daughter. Hard wheneveryone else says yes but i know she has my genes and medication that leads to weight gain so no. Would be nice to say yes.

As a big coffee drinker I would love to find an alternative. Afternoons are often the time I hit a slump so the energy benefits certainly win me over. The Cavalla sounds lovely with coconut and cinnamon, I have been adding cinnamon to a lot of my drinks and sprinkled on my oats in the morning and find it is a big pick me up! 🙂

WOW! What an amazing sounding product. I like the sound of all the health benefits but if I had to choose one over all the others it would have to be that it supports your heart, digestive system, brain and bones. I have severe osteoporosis and have to follow a GF diet, this affects my life in many ways. Being able to enjoy something like Ciro Bru (I like the sound of the Dark Roast) means I can still follow a healthy lifestyle but feel like I am having a “treat with benefits” it’s a win, win really. 🙂

I’ve been wanting to give up coffee and tea because of the caffeine and once I heard about this drink and how it can give you an energy boost and it’s still full of a lot that’s good for you I knew I needed to give it a try, also that it’s brewed in a french press really makes me happy.

I’m having trouble losing weight as I’m on meds for rheumatoid arthritis and having thyroid treatment. Hi NNAM, I got onto Crio Bru while in hospital after. Knee op, as something to help with my addictions of coffee and food in general (I’m not discriminating if it’s food I’ll eat it!) 2 weeks later I had not only reduced from 6/7 cups of coffee down to 2 a day and no desire to eat for the sake of it, but I lost 5 kilos. My surgeon was quite amazed!! Since finding Crio I’ve apparently not been so grumpy either, and I am finding I am generally much happier than pre Crio. This is good stuff, but you know that..
