Wow…….I have wanted an excalibre dehydrator for what seems like forever….A better question for me would be what wouldn’t I make. I use my oven on low to do a fair bit already but with imperfect results. And it drives my husband nuts when it stays on all night. I have never tried making my own jerky before so would start with that.

I’d make Dried Fruit Ornaments: Get large pieces of different types of dried fruit, pierce a hole near the top of each one, thread a piece of string or ribbon through and tie end. They can now be hung around a small centre piece for guests to help themselves to or to be purely admired. Use your imagination and you could hang them anywhere! Even hiding them around the backyard and house and making the kids find them. Not only is this fun for the kids but they get a healthy treat at the end of it!

Living in a small country town I don’t come across Boost Juice outlets unless we are on holidays or travelling. I have always been fascinated with the ‘green grass’ shots that people drink but have never been game enough to try them. The juicer would give me the incentive to go a la naturale and really experiment using those vital greens that I miss out on.

We also have a child who needs high protein foods, as he is on medication that suppresses his appetite. I would love to create a high protein shake using blueberries, oats, coconut water, honey, whey protein and chia seeds. The juicer would allow me to create a variety of shakes for him each day and vary the taste. I don’t even have a mix master, so making smoothies for him to date has been very boring and limited.

Oh how this prize I’d love to win
As my HM 25 year old dehydrator I’ve just thrown in the bin!
I’d start with the luchboxes with fruit and yoghurt leathers
not forgetting the jerky, meusli bars and mango for icecream in hot weather.
Next to the dried vegies for soups, stews, tapenades and dips
then stock and soup leathers and cheesy kale chips.
The list just goes on and my mouths starting to drool
to win this prize would be so cool!

I have researched other dehydrators and I have come to the conclusion that this one is by far the best. I would dehydrate fruit, and make up little fruit bags for when I am out with my kids, I would make all kinds of crackers, I would dry my nuts that I had soaked, I would make beef jerky, and the list goes on and on……I would love it!…and my kids would think I was just great for making them so many interesting and healthy foods…x

I suppose the first thing I would try is almond flour as I go through buckets of it but having read some of the comments on this blog the possibilities seem endless – semi-dried toms, crackers, fruit leathers. All everyday things, it would be put to good use for sure!

As to the juicer, I HATE the fact that store bought juices have so much sugar in them and it’s really hard to sneak vege juices into the kids so this would be a blessing to be able to make my own and know that the kids are getting the good stuff in them 🙂

Changing diets to the appreciation of raw foods and the possibilities. Fruit leathers and straps, jerky, yogurt straps, vege & fruit chips especially banana and sweet potatoe. To bring fresh raw home grown foods from the garden that will last and maintain their nutrition during the year. I have a fantastic juicer…but would love a dehydrator. My son is not a great fruit eater these days…would like to get him into fruit again with some great fruit-inspired snacks & meals from the dehydrator. Bub #2 is almost here so will be good for when he/she is up to that stage of eating solids..& good for snacks for me when breast feeding.

WOW! This is a fabulous prize pack! With an Excalibur…..Dehydrated strawberries (fresh from my local strawberry farm, they taste like sweet candy), pineapple(Yum!), crispy dried apples (great instead of potato crisps and perfect for kids lunch boxes), raw ginger snaps, raw beetroot crackers (better than Ryvitas), fresh and 100% real fruit roll ups (for lunch boxes), activated nuts, orange slices (great to use in tea or for dipping in chocolate ) …I could go on and on…..and on….

Both the dehydrator and the juicer have been on my wish list forever! I would love to make lots of lovely healthy snacks for my babies (and me!) especially dried apples and apricots. My kids love them but I struggle to find any that are sulphite-free and the few that I’ve found are just so expensive I can’t justify it. Would love love love to be able to make some myself. 🙂 I’d also absolutely love to be able to make fresh healthy juice for my family. What a great competition!

Oh the possibilities!! I would make kale, sweet potato and zucchini chips (just to name a few) and all sorts of dried fruit, raw crackers and pizza base. I would also like to try raw flat bread for wraps. Yummy!! A juicer would be awesome too. I have my cheap juicer and dehydrator away to family when I recently moved interstate. So my 4 kids and I would love to be lucky enough to win one of these amazing products.

Oh how exciting it would be …. I would start by drying all the fruit i could get my hands on , then vegi chips , then flat “bread” with spinach, then activate nuts , then check out what this “yogurt straps” is all about, then … oh I’m hungry now , I’d better go and eat. But it won’t be any where near as good as it would be if I had an Excalibur Dehydrator. A dream come true.

I would dry as much fruit that was in season as I could. I have mangoes on our block, and I love dried mango the best. I would use it also for drying out the almond and the coconut pulp from when I make milk then make flour once it is dried. I would like to try to make beef Jerky, fruit wraps as well as dried cranola bars! Oh so many things to make with this. Been dreaming of owning one for a long time!

What would I make? What wouldn’t I make!!! I’ve seen so many recipes that I’ve wanted to try but needed a dehydrator for – ravioli, crackers, pancakes, dried fruit, dried tomato, dried herbs….. the possibilities are endless. Being dairy AND egg intolerant, this baby would definitely get a workout! 🙂

Wow! The dehydrator looks fantastic! I have never owned one or really know much about them but with an almost 3 year old daughter with severe food sensitivities on a very limited diet of mostly fruit and veg this would really be an amazing thing to have. I could give her more variety rather than just the plain steamed or raw fruit and veg she already eats. Amazing, thank you!

With the dehydrator I would start with Green veggie powder, healthy jerky!, crisps of pumpkin/beetroot/parsnip/zucchini/apple/strawberries etc!, dry herbs and tomatoes and beans, make raw bread, crackers including juice pulp crackers, activated nuts, granola and yoghurt. After that I would be looking for more things to try.

With the juicer I would start with juices…specifically a 5/2 juice with kale, beetroot, celery, carrot, cucumber, orange and banana. Yum!

SO. MANY. THINGS! Just like Excalibur the magical sword, I will take my magical kitchen knife in hand and make LEGENDARY food! And just like the wizard Merlin, I will make food magic happen in my castle! As for the first thing I’ll make, hubby would like me to activate some nuts, but I’m not sure he knows what this actually means!
