Love List {May 2014}

May 28, 2014 · 59 Comments

Isn’t the weather amazing for May? I am loving it so much.

Here is this month’s round-up of what I have been loving and some amazing bargains from around the web.

Mt Uncle's Banana Flour

♥ Mt Uncles Banana Flour. I have been testing out this flour and I love it! It’s gluten free and and a resistant starch -which simply put is great for digestion, low GI and for those who want to be healthy. It’s high in Potassium, Magnesium, Dietary Fibre and Vitamin E.

It’s made with just 100% Australian grown and owned green bananas. There are loads of recipes on the website, but the date loaf was really nice. If you have a thermomix, there are thermy instructions as well.

Energetic Mama

♥ The Energetic Mama. I am such a huge fan of Jessica Donovan, naturopath and women’s holistic health expert! She has just released a brand new coaching program called ‘Sparkling You’. It’s designed to transform you from an overwhelmed, exhausted and ‘out of balance’ mama to an energetic, confident and joyful mama. The package combines health coaching, accountability, inspiration and a heap of practical resources.

Jess is offering everyone the chance to apply for a complimentary ‘Sparkling Session’ with her. This session is designed for you to voice your biggest dreams and health hurdles, to experience Jessica’s style and find out more about the program. Check it out here and start sparkling!

Pukka Tea and Luvju

♥ Treats for the soul. My favourite little treat this month has been Luvju hearts and Pukka tea. Both are organic and contain lots of ingredients that are actually good for you. Lots of soul replenishing stuff, without the guilt.

quirky cooking

♥ Quirky Cooking Cookbook. I am so thrilled that my lovely friend Jo Whitton, has finally released her thermomix cookbook, Quirky Cooking. It has had all of Australia in a frenzy trying to get their hands on a copy – with good reason. It’s an amazing testament to Jo’s passion for good, healthy, whole foods and contains tried and true delicious recipes. If you have a thermomix and love healthy food, this will become your best friend.

♥ Zentangle.  My gorgeous friend Tash from A girl, a Guy, Fur kids and Food sent me a Zentangle kit this month. It’s a fabulous way to relax and relieve stress, guiding you through a basic structure to create beautiful, unique images. Zentangle is the creative outlet for people who don’t think they are creative! I am having so much fun with it and even the kids are getting in on the act now!

“It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well-being.” Zentangle.

Puraforce Remedies

♥ Puraforce Remedies bundle. Nicole Cunningham is a legend in our house. Her homeopathic remedies are our go-to for pretty much all ailments. They work effectively and fast and contain no nasties! You can now get customized bundle of remedies and save a massive 20%! I am stocking up for the winter season and getting us all onto immune boost drops daily. In May, Nicole is also giving away a free New Mother’s Tonic with all orders over $120. You can read more about Nicole and how homeopathy works in this interview I did with her.

10-ways

♥ Raise your Vibration. One of my favourite blog posts this month, The Spirit, Science and Metaphysics website talks about how to raise your vibration and get healthier and happier.

I also thought this blog post about Vaginal Steaming was really interesting and useful for anyone suffering painful periods.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

♥ Coconut Aminos. I have actively been avoiding soy products. Then (duh) I realized that I use soy sauce pretty regularly and it contains… you guessed it…. soy! Anyway, I got some organic Niulife Coconut Amino Sauce in my last Organics on a Budget order to give it a go. I absolutely love it – a perfect alternative and it’s gluten free, dairy free and contains 17 naturally occurring amino acids.

1392051_736942686345628_8792949179280056655_n

♥ Jules Galloway Naturopath. Jules’s new ebook, Desserts Raw and Simple is an absolute cracker! If you hurry, Jules is also throwing in a free copy of Gluten Free Treats and Desserts by Claudie Richey with every purchase of her book until midnite, Monday the 9th of June. Check it out here.

download

♥ Biome Eco Store Discount. I have just teamed up with one of my favourite online stores, Biome as an affiliate partner. They have kindly given an exclusive offer to all of my readers – 10% off, storewide! You just need to use the code: NNAM10! They have a huge range of all sorts of eco-friendly, organic, natural, recycled and fair trade things.

skinB5_skinrehab_300x250

♥ Skin B5 specials. Get 50% off Skin B5 purifying mask (code: BESTMASK) and 50% off Acne Control Caplets (code: SKINREHAB) until midnite, 31st of May. My kids love this range to keep their acne under control – we recommend it to everyone.

♥ EFT coaching. My gorgeous friend, Kirri has a three session bundle of EFT (tapping) coaching for just $60 each. Email her at kirri.white@gmail.com or contact her at Kirri White Coaching. We love EFT – it can help remove so much stuck emotion, pain and hurt from your body.

♥ Overfed and Undernourished Movie. Remember last month I talked about this awesome doco? Well, it’s out now and you can get a copy from the girls at Nutraorganics (find it under gift ideas). Woohoo!

♥ TOM organic tampons. You still have a few more days to take advantage of the special deal. Get a massive 20% off any purchase from their online store! Just use the code: NATMUM. Ends May 31st.

What’s on your love list this month? I would love to know what you have discovered.

This month I discovered Synthesis Organics – totally organic and energy imbued skincare. I spent up and bought the herbal teas, auric mist and the essential oils.

I also got the Ascension Kitchen Green Smoothies App which I think has finally converted me from a juice girl to a smoothie girl!

I also discovered (well not discovered so much as started using) spirulina… very cool stuff.

I would bake banana bread, banana and apple slice, apple and date slice and brownies! Little bit baking obsessed. When you don’t buy anything but single ingredient foods it helps if you love to cook in the kitchen! Can’t wait to try this new flour xx

Jules Galloway is a wizard with her recipes…I would never have thought I would be a convert to raw vegan desserts….but she has the touch with her recipes. Mango Mousse cake is now a firm family favourite – my 11 year old son demanded it for his birthday party and it was devoured in 10minutes (by alot of fussy kids!)

Seeing this post about banana flour is like a wow moment for me. I need to start a grain fee diet. I’ve just got back from my GP who has referred me to an RA specialist as my doctor suspects I have rheumatoid arthritis 🙁 In thinking about what changes I can make to help improve my situation, diet is at the forefront of my mind… My first thought was “there goes my banana bread”… But maybe not with banana flour…. So that’s what I would do, I’d bake my banana & walnut bread recipe, changing up Wholemeal flour for banana flour :0)
