Well, that was May! Here is my love list for the month – things I have been using, trying, loving and crushing on.
♥ A Bit Hippy
Why, yes I am! I have been trialling this lovely natural skincare range this month and I am now a firm fan. My favourite products include the shampoo and conditioner (they make my hair feel sooo lovely). The deodorant works really well and has a very mild scent so suitable for either gender. The anti-ageing cream is gorgeous and I would use it again – for $30 it’s great value. My daughter loved the BB cream – as well as giving a light coverage, it also helps with acne!
They have a lovely baby range which makes a very cute gift. Also in the range is sunscreen, tanning cream, all sorts of products for the face, body wash and a body bar too. What I love is that it’s a really family friendly, affordable, natural range, made in Australia. The packaging and fun concept is also really quirky and appeals to me too! You can find it at some health food stores or pharmacies. Go here to find stockists near you or just buy straight from them online. Update: Free Shipping for all of June 2015.
GIVEAWAY: Yep the lovely hippies are giving away a hamper pack of their goodies to one of you to test it out as well. You will get a shampoo, conditioner, facewash and deodorant plus a heap of little samples added in as well. All you have to do is go and like the A Bit Hippy facebook page and leave us a message on this article letting us know how you are ‘a little bit hippy’! Read the terms at the bottom of this post too please!
The lucky winner was Rebecca F!!
♥ Anita Rossiter.
Anita is the awesome nutritionist at Eat and Three Veg and she lives near me now, so we get together and talk food and health! When Anita put up this post about Post Natal Depression and Nutrition, I was blown away. This info needs to be shared with anyone with PND or anyone about to have a baby. It’s time we support mums and nourish them after birth.
♥ The Happy Cookbook
Speaking of hippies, the biggest hippy nutritionist in Australia has to be Lola Berry. Her new cook book is amazing – all the recipes are gluten free and sugar free and based on real, whole food. She’s up on the latest nutrition so you won’t find any low fat in here! I love that it’s family friendly and simple too. A favourite for the collection.
Get it online ($15 off!) or wherever you normally buy good books!
♥ Nature Crown.
I am totally loving this project over at Mama Miss. It’s a gorgeous crown made from sticks! I think it’s so important to get kids not only being creative, but getting in touch with nature. Of course, non-plastic, eco-friendly, economical things to play with always get me excited too. This one is a winner.

♥ Happi Empire Gratitude Journal
I’ve actually had this for some time, but it’s been pulled out again and lovingly filled in. I like making my gratitude practice a lovely ritual – some quiet time, candles and oils and writing in a pretty book. There’s something more powerful about it this way. I adore Fran’s work – she is a graphic designer and sells some pretty and inspirational things on the side. I love the journal and it’s one of my favourite things to give my girlfriends for gifts.
Check out Fran and her Gratitude Journal here.
♥ Succulents in Recycled Tin Cans
How amazing is this project from Caz at Home Heart Haven? Make a very stylish pot plant for very little cost and effort. I love succulents – not only do they look spectacular, but they are hard to kill!
Read how to do it here.
♥ Red Boat Fish Sauce
Yummo – we have been loving the Red Boat Fish Sauce in our asian cooking. How amazing is this! Fish sauce with no sugar, no nasties, no preservatives. It’s made with traditional fermentation methods, it uses only anchovies and salt and it’s full of protein and vitamins and minerals. A two ingredient product? Unheard of! It’s a favourite with those following the paleo way of living too – many asian sauces are loaded with msg, sugar and all sorts of additives.

I’m in to win! I am def a bit hippy, so this line of products would suit me well!
Hell yes I want in!!! My major struggle is a shampoo and cond that ticks all the boxes, Eco-wise and allergy & nasty-free as well as not leaving me with a big oily weird patch at the back of my head!
And what a great line up of bargains this month!
I’d love to try the Hippy products. My hair adores natural products and finding silicone free conditioners is very difficult. Thanks Sonia
Yes I want in too please! This range looks lovely.
I’m in it to win. I have real trouble finding a healthy shampoo and conditioner for my hair and end up with dandruff and itchiness. I’m so keen to try this. Thank you so much.
I’d love to try to little but hippy products.. I am a little bit hippy because I like giving trees a hug 🙂
ha ha ha autocorrect!
I’m a little bit hippy because I use MCNs on my kids and washable cloth menstrual pads for me 🙂 I would love to try this skin range
Fabulous prize! I’m a bit hippy because crystals, energy healing, bone broths and chemical free deodorants are all part of my life, and even my 4 and 8 year old daughters talk about these things! They say things like “mum, is it a full moon so we can cleanse our crystals”, and “mum, I love your broth”. It makes me giggle, and I’m SO happy my girls are growing up with these concepts being totally normal to them. Yay the hippies! 🙂
Fantastic prize! I’m ‘a bit Hippy’ because I get excited by the beauty of nature, cooking real food, seeing the stars at night, feeling the grass under my feet and any products that are made from natural ingredients 🙂
I’m a little bit hippy cause we use cloth nappies and eat organic.
im in 🙂 loving what i have tried of their products and would love to try some more..
and I’m a bit hippy cause i didnt wear shoes to my wedding in the bush
I’m a little bit hippy! Flowers in my hair and no shoes EVERY DAY!!! =D
I love the sound of the A Bit Hippy Range and would love to try the shampoo especially. The other mums at school think I’m a bit hippy as I’m always going on about the ‘bugs’ I’m brewing and bones I’m stewing.
I’m so honoured to be included in your list Sonia – thank you xx
I’m a little bit hippy because I love eco friendly natural products with no nasties, but only the ones that work.
This sounds fabulous after I finish this, I’m off to their website yippee
Always been a hippie at heart. My parents often told me I was born in the wrong era. These products would fit perfectly into my life as I have recently eliminated the use of all chemicals in our house hold BUT haven’t changed our shampoo and conditioner over as yet!
I would love to win ‘a little bit hippy’ hamper package as I have tried making my own skin care/ deodorants with epic fail! The deodorant I used caused me to break out in a horrible looking rash under my arms and I still haven’t found anything nice and natural to wash my hair with without it been left feeling like straw! Thanks 🙂
I would love to try this range myself and two children. We are slowly becoming more hippy 🙂 chemical free, whole foods, coconut oil is my face cream and used for everything! Fermented vegies and bone broths too. Just added salt lamps to our rooms. Adding these products would fit in so well 🙂
I am ‘a little bit hippy’ by not letting any food go to waste – those carrot tops get used in stews, the celery leaves I use like spinach, and kale stems fried with garlic just add a little more fibre to my diet!
Liked! I am a “little bit hippy” because I cloth nappied by bubba, i try to use all natural products like shampoos, body wash, toothpaste etc, for a while we grew our own veggies when we owned our own house, and I love to cook real, whole food 🙂
Oh honey….. More hippy every day!!
I would love to win the Hippy products. Being pregnant they would be so handy right now to try out.
I’m a bit hippie. Just a bit. I try so hard to go all natural but always end up with some “traditional” products! Like shampoo. I’ve tried natural brands. But I have an unmentionable brand in my shower ATM because it seems to be all that works! Would love to win this pack to try these products.
Would love to win this!! How am I a little bit hippy? I like a little bit of kale with my quinoa, a little bit of incense with my yoga, a little bit of hair in my pits and a little bit of light with my love <3
I would love to win some A Bit Hippy products!!
I am a bit hippy…. would love to try these products – thank you 🙂
I would LOVE to try these – I’m a little bit hippy because I love chemical free products but often when I go out my hair doesn’t do what I want it too and I realize I smell (embarrassing) coz the natural products I try haven’t worked 🙁
hi I would love to try this product. My 2 niece.’s call me Aunty Hippy . As I used to drive a blue and Combi, I also work in a hydro therapy pool so feel my skin and hair feel dry and. Would love to try and solve it
Finally! I’m a little bit Hippy..have been looking for products like these forever.
I’m a little bit hippy because I’m a crunchy mamma with the salt lamp on, MCN’s the works 🙂 I hope I can add a gift basket of A Little Bit Hippy to our household!!
A chance to win a great new product, righto then that sounds like me. Shampoo & Condtioner that hubby, daughter & myself can all use! Fingers crossed, thank you.
I’m a bit hippy, my dad has always told me I was born in the wrong era!! Teaching my boys to love our earth & eat real food. I have a hippies heart
A bit hippy is ME. I’m checking out this product for sure. Love love love the name.
I’m a bit hippy, I shop at the farm gate market, only use my car when I have to, don’t clean with chemicals, don’t eat refined anything and was glad to use some of the clingfilm that I have had in the drawer since my mother visited 6 years ago to ‘double glaze’ the grills in the skylights in our upstairs bathroom to try and keep the warmth from our wood heater in the upstairs of the house now the temperature has plummeted outside!
yes please,
My daughters and I would love to try out this range, especially if there is a BB cream for my teenager. 🙂
We as you know are more than a little bit hippy!!
Homeopath, botanist, grow most of our own fruit and veg and the rest os bought organic, no chemical cleaners or toiletries here.
Thank you!!
Hi, would love to try these, trying to get my family to join me in my bone broth is tricky, but these may convince them to give natural stuff a try… My most hippy thing would be spraying my cat with apple cider vinegar to get rid of his fleas and watching him lick green smoothie bowls out!
Awesome prize. I’m a little bit hippy as I no longer use bin liners and take my own reusable produce bags to the shops (both to my MIL’s disgrace!!)
I am a little bit hippy as i love tie dyed clothes (the brightness brings a smile to my face), i use only natural products on my family’s skin, i feed natural food to my family, we have a big vegie patch , i let me kids get dirty in the mud, i live in the moment 🙂
I’m a little bit hippy because I make my own bread
Would love to try this beautiful product. I’m a little bit hippy because I love nature, yoga, meditating and my beautiful crystals.
iWork’s love to try these products, I’m a bit hippy because I’m trying to get back to the basics – all natural skin and Haircare
As I’m ‘A bit hippy’ myself I would love to try some of their products out. I have long, super fine hair and an oily scalp so can NEVER find a decent natural hair care product. If Sonia thinks it’s worth a try, then so do I! 🙂
What a great giveaway! Hmmm I’m a bit hippy because I try and use homemade products as much as possible, but these look really good and a great alternative to save me the time i spend making things like shampoo etc
I’d buy natural skin products or food products over fancy clothes 🙂 I love op shopping, I love yoga, meditation and nature 🙂
This little hippy is always on the lookout to try toxic free hair and skin care for myself and my precious babies
I’m not just a liking a Little Bit Hippy …. I’m LOVING a Little Bit Hippy … I have their face cream and it is DIVINE!
So excited about ‘A Bit Hippy’ products. I’m a little bit hippy because I make all my cleaning products with vinegar! (Kreo Jazz)
I’m a modern day hippie!!
Im a bit hippy because i love all natural products, all natural medicine and all natural food
I would love love love to try some product’s and have a pamper my 4th child is now 6 months and I just finished my certificate in natural therapies!!! And living in a red dirt minning town its hard ti find fantastic product’s like this!! So a papmer would be great
I’m a bit hippy because I can’t live without my essential oils and I love being outside barefoot!
I’m a wanna be Hippy, still working my way through the renovations of me and needing some great products to help me along the way 🙂
I’m a bit hippy… I try, I’d like to be more hippy but baby steps… I cook from scratch, don’t use chemicals to clean, attempting to grow herbs and veggies. I’d love to try these products, they look fabulous.
I would love to win this hamper of stuff because I am a little bit (a lot!!) hippy.
I use a menstrual cup, I have breastfed and cloth diapered my children. I buy organic fruit and veg from local farmers, and try to grow my own veg where possible! I use only earth friendly cleaning products. Home educate my child. Recycle, compost and donate anything reusable to charity. Buy ethical and fair trade clothes, and try to make things when I get the opportunity!!
I would love to win the hippy products! I am trying to move my family to more natural products/foods and this would be a great help. There are so many different things out there these days it can be a little overwhelming and hard to pick where to start!!!!
I’m a bare-foot, broth-sipping hippie but have struggled to find a natural deodorant that I’m happy with. I would love to try these products and use them on my family too. Thanks for the opportunity.
Not quite hippy enough to go ‘no poo’ or with a deodorant crystal- just a little bit hippy here! I’d love to try these products.
Thanks for entering everyone, the winner was Rebecca F!
