You might have noticed me faffing around on Facebook incognito (that’s me on the right).
Well, it’s all for a good cause.
Originally I posted a photo of myself on my Facebook page sporting a mask and some cucumbers. I was having a crappy day and I just needed a rest. I thought a little pampering might cheer me up.
Some friends thought it was fabulous and Robyn from Overcoming Overwhelm (that’s her on the left) said every woman should be doing this! Regularly taking time out and pampering herself!
So, Self Love Month was born.
We created a Facebook event and invited our friends. We now have nearly 700 woman committed to a little self-love.
Would you like to join us? I promise you will feel amazing! Here is the link.
All you have to do is find 20 minutes, put on a mask and some cucumbers and rest up. If you want, take a photo and use it as your Facebook profile picture in April.
If you need some inspiration, I am going to share with you some of my favourite natural masks that I love to use.
Mukti Kakadu Plum and Honey Mask. This beautiful mask is so light, you can hardly tell I have it on! It’s made from organic ingredients including kakadu plum and honey to really hydrate and soothe. Delish! You can get it online at Mukti Organics.
The cucumbers are also organic and they help by cooling and reducing any puffiness. It feels amazing.
Miessence Purifying Mineral Mask. This is one we have been using for years. It is fantastic for clearing up problem skin, really fast. The teen uses this several times a week . We also add a small dash of Inliven probiotic superfood for extra anti-bacterial action. I highly recommend it if you suffer from acne. You can get both online from Miessence.
Cold, organic chamomile teabags are also wonderful for reducing the puffiness around the eye area.
Make your own chocolate mask. It’s cheap, it’s organic and it’s easy – using ingredients you probably already have! It also makes your skin super soft and silky. Find out how to make it here.
Kora Organics Hydrating Mask. This is a gorgeously softening mask. Gentle and calming, it really makes my skin feel amazing. It contains noni extract and organic ingredients. You can get it online from Kora Organics.
Nutraorganics Superfood Masks. Some of my favourite girls also got in on the act. Vanessa and Darlsy from Superfoods for Kidz and Nutraorganics made their own masks with their gorgeous superfood powders. Take a look.
So, what is your favourite mask?
Will you take the challenge and put on a mask and cucumbers and join us for self-love month?
